There are a few reasons why you might want to remove “Powered by Shopify” from your store.

Maybe you’re using a custom theme and you want to show off your branding. Or maybe you’re just not a fan of the default Shopify logo.

Whatever the reason, removing “Powered by Shopify” is easy to do with a few lines of code

What Does Powered By Shopify Mean?

Shopify is a Canadian e-commerce company headquartered in Ottawa, Ontario

It is also the name of its proprietary e-commerce platform for online stores and retail point-of-sale systems.

WHAT DOES POWERED BY SHOPIFY MEAN

Shopify offers online retailers a suite of services “including payments, marketing, shipping, and customer engagement”. Furthermore, it’s a platform for them to build their businesses.

In 2013, Shopify was ranked as the fastest-growing company in Canada. Shopify was founded in 2004 by Tobias Lutke, Daniel Weinand, and Scott Lake after attempting to open Snowdevil, an online store for snowboarding equipment.

Lutke, a German immigrant, did not enjoy the difficulty involved with setting up and maintaining an online store, so he developed his own solution.

Initially, Shopify was aimed at companies who wanted to sell their products online but did not have the time or resources to create their own websites.

Over time, Shopify has evolved into a platform for all types of businesses, from small businesses to large enterprises.

Today, Shopify powers over half a million businesses in approximately 175 countries

In 2015, Shopify launched its Partners program, which allows developers and designers to build themes and apps for merchants using Shopify’s platform.

The Partners program has been successful in attracting developers and designers to build the Shopify platform.

In 2016, Shopify acquired KitCRM, a service that helps merchants send automated marketing messages.

The kit allows merchants to send messages through multiple channels (including email, SMS, and messenger apps) based on customer behavior.

Powered by Shopify means that Shopify provides the e-commerce platform for the website you are visiting

You can usually find this information in the footer of the website. If you are looking to start an online store then we recommend using Shopify!

Why Can’t I Remove Powered by Shopify?

If you’re using a free Shopify theme, then you will see a ‘Powered by Shopify’ link in the footer of your online store.

This is because these themes are created by Shopify’s partners, and the Powered by Shopify link is required to be kept in the footer.

If you’re using a paid Shopify theme, then you should be able to remove the Powered by Shopify link from your store’s footer.

To do this, you’ll need to edit the code of your theme. If you’re not comfortable doing this yourself, then you can hire a Shopify Expert to help you out.
